This is tough because SHH borrows many elements from SH2. Storylines are fairly similar in both motivation and plot twists. However the storyline is much more direct in SHH, which doesn't make it nearly as interesting to play through again like it is in SH2. The action is more dynamic and fast-paced in SHH, which makes for a better game, but detracts from the gloomy and subtle experience that SH2 retains. All the SH2 monsters have significance and symbolism to the overall theme and story, whereas many of the monsters in SHH are there purely for the action aspect and don't have much significance in overall plot.
