all games are not created equal

When Lemmings came out, I swear everyone played it.  It was a simple concept for a puzzle game and it worked perfectly.  Some parts could get a little tricky with all of the random lemmings wandering around, but it was still for the most part fun.  Worst part though is when you got so close to getting x number of lemmings and one of them falls off somewhere because you couldn't click something in time.  Great classic game though.

Now, from what I can see so far, LBP could introduce a world of infinite replay value coming from users all around the world.  The level creation system is very robust and I'm sure we will be seeing a good amount of great user content.  It's interesting to see a game be mostly focused around generating content, but I think it could really work.

In the end, LBP wins because it's a step in the direction of community-driven gaming.  Because the game ships with all the tools and encourages you to use them, I think we could all win.  This could finally be something for those you like single player games, but always want more and more content.
