Mario II was not even remotely as good as the first. The problem with the second game is that it didn't take the good from the first and improve. Instead, it recreated much of the plot and gameplay. As far as villians go, you just can't beat Bowser. WART was like a baby bowser, all soft and cuddly.
The original earned it's spot as a classic. And while the second may deserve some credit for weird shit (using Birdo's own eggs to kill them) it just isn't in the same league.last activity: 12/16/2008 5:12 am

However, what I hate about Sonic is what many people love about it, and that's the speed. I love going fast and whizzing by as much as anyone, but it is impossible to react quick enough when you have pits and enemies coming and you're moving at 120 MPH. Plus, you end up passing by most of the level and missing rings and power-ups.
Also, I hate the physics that prevents you from walking up a simple small hill without a huge running start.
Still, it seems that SOMEONE likes the hedgehog because they keeping making more Sonic games, no matter how bad they are.last activity: 1/7/2009 9:01 am

Super Mario Bros was the first video game I experienced on the NES. but having a sega genesis at home I played sonic a lot more. Thus growing more fond of the game than mario. These games are both classics, both entertaining, but sonic had speed, was blue, and alot more colors than super mario bros.
I would spend hours and hours on Sonic The Hedgehog, and sonic the hedehog 2. The game kept me entertained and I liked the concept of running around in smooth tracks/lands collecting rings and stuff like that. After I learned about the emeralds I started to play sonic the hedgehog even more. Super sonic was hard to obtain (thats like friggin bonus content). Not to mention you dont truely beat the game unless you do collect all the emeralds. Unfortunatly I broke the game one day when I got real mad at the fact that it froze on the last level... last battle against dr.robotnic... yeah... first time I had ever gotten there and it froze... saddend me so.
Mario was something I played at my grandmas house. It was fun, but for some reason not as entertaining as Sonic was. nothing realy to it but to pass each level in a certain amount of time colecting coins mushrooms and fire flowers. And on the third level of each world fight a bowser.
I love both games, but I'm going to have to go with sonic on this one, despite the fact that the newer games have been somewhat of a fail.last activity: 1/4/2009 8:01 pm

"hey my names Mario, hows it goin? Imma shoot fireballs and grow larger and fight a giant lizard/turtle" is my basic impression on how Mario introduced himself. and mario is basicaly the character that launched nintendo into a very large WIN.
Super Mario Bros. 3 was what i wanted to play all the time at my grandma's house ( for she was the one who had the NES, not I... ) as soon as i learned about the flute I was hooked on trying to beat the very last stage ina matter of minutes but it was very very hard to get past that first level of that last stage. i also hated that platform that would grab you and pull you into a suprise level. -teh uhhhg-. i should buy an NES...
anyway. Super Mario bros 3 to me is alot more fun, becuase you have a map you can walk around on and alot more stages. with mini games! everyone loves mini-games!
Super Mario Bros. was fun as well but a little consistant. "the princess is in another castle" ... nice.... who captures a ton of people with mushrooms on their heads?! whats the significance here?!last activity: 4/24/2009 12:04 pm

Dr. Mario
Super Mario Bros. Overall Comparison these games are both classics. but Dr. Mario takes the cake. its a fun, simple puzzle game with catchy music. and mutliplayer was always fun.

you don't take turns, you play against each other, through time and through skill, a race to see who can finish and who will fail.
in Super Mario Bros. on multiplayer you take turns, waiting for your competitor to die. >.> or making them die via messing with them in fun ways.last activity: 4/3/2009 6:04 am
