Wii Sports has many different games to play and because of how simple they are all, almost anyone can play it. With Wii Sports, you can hand your grandmother the controller and she will be bowling in no time. Or playing golf.
Boom Blox is still fun, but there is a learning curve, especially to those who never play video games. Pulling out blocks can take some getting used to because of how awkward it can be to pull a block out at a specific angle in 3D space using only left, right, up and down movements with your hand cursor.last activity: 12/15/2008 7:12 pm

My main complaint with the first Wii Sports was that there wasn't much to do. It mostly felt like a tech demo. Thankfully, Wii Sports Resort doesn't feel THAT much like a tech demo.
Obviously, the biggest advantage for Resort is the Wii Motion Plus. I honestly didn't expect that much of a difference, but it's very surprising at how much precision it adds. And you get to test this difference too, as Resort includes the old golf and bowling, only this time utilizing the WM+. Tennis was replaced with table tennis, and boxing is replaced more or less with swordplay.
Bowling is always a favorite with the original Wii Sports, and the WM+ makes it feel new again. Namely, it's MUCH easier to add curve to your ball, allowing you to make those precision movements needed to strike every time.
Same goes for golf. Now, the twist in your wrist will make a difference as you swing, causing your ball to draw or fade.
Resort also adds plenty of new games as well, such as frisbee (my personal fav), canoeing, airplay (skydiving and airplane-ing-ness), and wakeboarding, to name a few.
Many of these concepts have been done already in countless other minigame-collections, such as Mario Party or WarioWare. But like I said, WM+ makes all the difference in the world.
Obviously Resort is a good purchase. Obviously Resort wins simply due to the fact that it's everything Wii Sports was, plus much much more. It gave me an excuse to dust off my Wii, which I haven't done in months.last activity: 7/27/2009 4:07 pm
