It was a simple concept for a puzzle game and it worked perfectly. Some parts could get a little tricky with all of the random lemmings wandering around, but it was still for the most part fun. Worst part though is when you got so close to getting x number of lemmings and one of them falls off somewhere because you couldn't click something in time. Great classic game though.
Now, from what I can see so far, LBP could introduce a world of infinite replay value coming from users all around the world. The level creation system is very robust and I'm sure we will be seeing a good amount of great user content. It's interesting to see a game be mostly focused around generating content, but I think it could really work.
In the end, LBP wins because it's a step in the direction of community-driven gaming. Because the game ships with all the tools and encourages you to use them, I think we could all win. This could finally be something for those you like single player games, but always want more and more content.last activity: 11/2/2008 10:11 am

I love the music in Loco Roco and how all the little loco rocos sing along. The music in LBP isn't terribly catchy for me, but it's still pretty fitting. I still randomly hum the Loco Roco theme song because of how great it is.
Gameplay-wise, both are similar in the sense where you may want to replay the levels over and over again in order to collect all the collectables. You don't have to if you don't want to, but for all the 100% completion people out there, you just gotta. In LBP though, you collect things that you can use when building your own levels, so that's a plus. Both can get equally as frustrating as well as fun.
LBP shines a lot more than Loco Roco in the style department for me because of how all the levels are constructed. Every monster, platform, moving thing, vehicle etc is made out of basic building block pieces. In one level, a giant elephant took me across the stage and it was made up of these huge cardboard pieces that moved and it was quite amazing. Loco Roco looks pretty, but LBP has so much more cuteness and coolness in its style.last activity: 11/9/2008 8:11 pm

L4D is exactly what you see; a zombie game. You shoot zombies, then repeat until the game is over. LBP has a whole layer of creation where you can make whatever you like. You could even make a zombie level if you wanted to.last activity: 11/25/2008 5:11 am

I personally loved MGS4 and thought it was totally amazing. But if you step back from it, not everyone loves MGS and the type of game that MGS is. Amazing game if you like that genre, but if you usually don't play that type of game, I'm not sure if you would be able to get into it.
LBP also wins big time on its style. Since MGS is just in the real world, it has no chance in the style category. LBP's levels are all very cool and enjoyable even to just look at sometimes. LBP just has this look to it that is so intriguing to people. It's a very simple game and it can be enjoyed by what I would imagine to be a much larger group than MGS4.
The way this works for me in my head is let's say you have to buy someone a gift who has a PS3. You see these two games. Both are great. However, LBP is a safer bet because it's a great game and has a broader appeal. So you go and buy LBP and the gift recipient loves it. Problem solved.
I'm basing this all on the overall appeal of the games to all gamers. If there are 20 gamers and 10 totally love one game and 12 really like another game, which one is better? It's hard to say, but I picked the direction of the most people liking it. Is that correct? Who knows.
I'm sorry Snake.last activity: 12/19/2008 7:12 pm

Little Big Planet, on the other hand, offers an astounding amount of freedom when it comes to creating levels, allowing you to download them as well. In addition, it allows co-op that's easy to get into and fun to play. Spore's content can quickly run out or get tiring, but LBP's content just keeps growing.last activity: 11/14/2008 2:11 pm
