When Final Fantasy VII came out, it was touted as a gaming landmark. Its plot, cutscenes, and graphics all stood out as amazing. And they certainly were impressive. However, FFVI had better characters, better gameplay, and an epic plot that saw the end of the world and lived through it. And no amount of Cloud's morose dialogue can beat that.
