For the sake of time, I'll be shortening Halflife 2 to HL2 and Halo 3 to H3 as I go on.
The matter of the fact is, despite having been released 3 years prior, HL2 is superior on numerous levels (though admittedly, this is often the way with older games). For a start, there is a level of atmosphere in HL2 that crops up often that you just never find in any stage on H3. H3 wasn't helped by its predecessors, which although give the story, you can easily play it as if H1 and H2 never existed, I did. However HL2 had massive expectations to live up to, just with HL1's reputation. It fully pulled it off. The character interactions, the way the dystopian pre-apocalyptic cityscape could pull you in and the amazing graphics / physics engine made H3 feel like an adrenaline-junkie breezeblock.
I don't know how long these are meant to be, but I could go on for a lot longer but I just want to make my first post short, blunt and quite frankly rubbish. I don't think I enjoyed H3 even half as much as I enjoyed HL2, maybe I'm just a sucker for a bit of horror, too much Sci Fi puts me off, but personal opinions aside, HL2 is just generally superior to H3. The only thing H3 had in superiority to HL2 is... uh... Publicity? No wait, that doesn't affect the game play in the slightest...last activity: 12/18/2008 6:12 pm

F.E.A.R.

While fights can be pretty big and intense in HL2, nothing compares to trying to outthink the clones in FEAR. Nothing is more exhilerating than listening to your enemies radio chatter as they plot out a plan to close in on you. Add that to the fact that the enemy's weapons hurt you just as much as you hurt them, and you got yourself a winner.

Unlike previous Oddworld games, Strangers wrath takes a dive from the traditional and combines FPS gameplay with adventure. Combining both first person and third person perspective, you take the role of Stranger, a Clint Eastwood style Wild West adventurer, taking down bandits for bounties for some operation.
Sounds like a plotless game, that'll throw you into numerous repetitive boss battles for you to snag more money, and achieve the operation, right?
Hell no. Hell hell hell no. Strangers Wrath pulls no punches; as the plot is uncovered, things start to twist, and suddenly the whole thing is switched on its head. The game becomes the most EPIC game ever, and although I'd love to continue, it will spoil the game for everyone.
I have no criticisms for this game, the plot is suitably paced, the game is suitably long, the use of live ammo (thats right people - live ammo) is well imagined and though out. The random towns scattered around the game world provides light relief, upgrades, and further missions. And the locals themselves? Possibly the most hilarious characters ever documented in a video game.
I compare this game to Half-Life 2, because Half-Life 2 is second on my list, and therefore, I think Strangers Wrath is possibly the BEST BEST game I have, and ever will play.
Oddworld: Strangers Wrath was the next gen game of the Xbox generation, and still is next gen in the modern gaming market.ubiquitousubiquitous Level 7last activity: 2/2/2009 2:02 am
