I find avatars interesting

I link a person's avatar to them, and I find my opinion of their posts are greatly altered by it. Does anyone else have that happen to them?

  • Avatars are a reflection of the user, definitely.

I think Mega Man is awesome, so hes my avatar.  If someone doesn't like Mega Man and thinks hes the stupidest character ever, then I wouldn't be surprised if they hated everything I wrote.  As long as they admitted that they hated my stuff because of Mega Man, I'd be fine with it.  They just can't be total jerks about it like that one user that we used to have.  You know who...

  • I think that avatars can have an effect on the person using the avatar as well as the people conversing with you on a forum or a blog or even a IM service.

right now on msn and xfire im using an avatar that is a self portrait of me being angry for no reason ( its a cartoony self portrait ). every time i talk to anybody on msn i get a sence of anger. maybe i should draw myself in a better mood.

I know that here i've switched avatars at least 3 times, and all of them have been portal avatars. I'm trying to find an avatar that relates to the entire scene of gaming or just one that people could say "ah.. this guy must realy love videogames" one that i can keep and be happy with for quite a while. It's hard to do though because my tastes change alot.

  • I always try to be unique and try not to follow trends.  For example, I've been using Vault Boy as my avatar for years before I even knew about Fallout 3, just because I like the original so much.  However now with the release of Fallout 3 I feel inclined to change it.

Like, on MSN Messenger (or LIVE messenger, ugh), I use a picture of a bottle of Mrs. Buttersworth.  I used to use a picture of Wal-Mart.

For this site, I'm considering trying to find a picture of Purple Tentacle from Day of the Tentacle, or possibly even the Doom guy.  If this site supported animated .gif's, then I have a plethora of Doom enemies that I would consider using.

This comparision is for the purposes of the hall of meat and crash mode. While both offer the ability to destroy, Skate 2 has a better medium. In both games the player must find a suitable launch point. Where skate 2 deviates is that you can initiate the hom mode mid air. Then you can control is the character goes into a ball or is streched out. Also you can make your person roll if he is in a ball at the right moment. Burn out is interesting in that it has after touch and crashbreaker. After touch allows the user to control where the car goes in slow-mo and crashbreaker makes the car explode after it hit a certain number of cars.
What it mostly boils down to is that while breaking vehicles and explosions are fun, you can't deny the shock or breaking a person's arm or snapping their neck, after sending them off of a dam.

While Tony Hawk games used to be the epitome of skating games, but when skate entered the gaming world, everything changed. Skate brought the ideas of not button mashing to get points but flicking the joystick in interesting directions. It brought a sense of purpose to each trick, a 180 meant moving the joystick from south to north along the side, not triangle in the air. Skate also brought the hall of meat. Where as most games you don't want to crash, in hom it is a race to see who can get hurt the most. It is a lot like the mode in Burnout Take Down to rack up damage.

While both are RTS's, W3 takes the cake. W2 brought the addition of bnet to Blizzard, but it never went far with it. All it had was melee style games. What w3 brought to the table was the use map settings style games of starcraft mixed with a new 3d aspect. Also w3 allowed for a level of customizability not seen before. With the addition of creating your own character model, though it is a lot of work, but enough people made them to justify it.  The story of w3 was better as well. It brought more controversy in the warcraft universe with the introduction of two new races and with many more plot elements.

Both of these games were for the Genesis. But Toejam and Earl just had that uniqueness that transcends time in that it is still a great game now. Altered Beast is still good but it is a 2d puncher still. Toejam and Earl just has this humorous aspect and it was one of the best alien games out and the ingenuity of some of the parts of the level were amazing, not to mention the random dancing.

  • Barbie is better than Fallout 3
    Overall Comparison
I mean Barbie is totally a better game than Fallout 3. I mean barbie appeals a much broader audience and has more replay value than Fallout 3. Fallout 3 is for nerd in their basements.
