Heading in a new direction..
Recently I have started playing Age of Conan again (there is a free 2 week trial for existing members) and I have to say that the game has had a well deserved turnaround.
There have been so many improvements that it feel like a completely new game, and that is hard to do for any MMO.
The one and only problem with the game is that there aren't as many players on as I'd like, but that may be because I'm used to the swarm of characters on WoW.
Actually, that last paragraph has me thinking. It sure does feel good to be able to complete a quest without having another steal a node or mob from you, and to not have bored, high level players camping an area.
But thats not to say that the game is empty either, often you come across another player and are able to team up, or fight to the death (on PvP servers you can attack ANYONE!).
I think you should all give the game a try (if you're interested, of course). If you end up logging on, I have two characters:
Aevistan - Gwahlur
and
Valmir - Gwahlur
I play on Aevistan more, so if you ever get around to playing, I may be on that.

I always had mild interested in AoC, but I can't really make myself really want to play another MMO right now. WoW really killed it for me. I can't hardly stand looking at the game anymore. But I am holding out and hoping that the Star Trek MMO turns out really good. If you're able to get out of your ship and explore planets, then that would be pretty sweet.
Indeed I have seen that episode, but here in Australia its on channel 9 (which is called nine, creative eh?).
But experience with WoW shouldn't stop you from playing AoC, the games may have similar elements, being RPG's and all, but the gameplay really set them apart.
Its also known that most WoW players aren't RPG players at all and often move on to FPS games once bored. These are all the immature people you usually find on WoW. =b
anyway. I've never ever played for an mmo, well actualy thats a lie. back in my younger days I payed for runescape membership. but that was about it. so thus any mmo that i have to spend money on once a month is like the negative side of a magnet for me. I've only played free mmo's ever since runescape. every now and then I play one with macros but i don't buy anything.
I'm hyped because dungeons and dragons is going free and it used to be pay to play.
The free 2 week trial is for those with accounts whose subscription has run out. After the games not so great launch quite a few quit and funcom wants to give people the oppurtunity to try out the new game.
Age of Conan is quite cheap for me, only AU$10 a month, but thats because I have connections ;).
