  • Call of Duty: World at War is better than Call of Duty 4
    Overall Comparison
A very tough choice, but I had to go with World at War mostly because of some more challenging missions. I liked Nazi Zombies too. World at war also has some slightly better graphics and more realistic gameplay. Its also has co-op which is a cool experience to be fighting alongside a friend thorugh WWII.

  • Rifles were TERRIBLY underpowered, so I hated W&W because I used to LOVE rifles in the old WWII games.

    • I've always liked the feeling of firing one shot at a time as opposed to full auto fire. Something just feels different when you fire each shot on your own.  Heck, whenever I play Ghost Squad in the arcades, I always pick the magnum so that I fire a single shot at a time.

      • Did you ever play Rainbow Six: Vegas? The Magnum in that game was incredible... But yeah, I do the same, everytime I pick up a modern 'realistic' FPS I instantly put my rifle on single fire - suppressed. It just feels so much better, whereas, if you do that in COD:W&W you'll just get gunned from behind by a semi-auto.

        • Never played Rainbow Six: Vegas, but I always intended on playing it.  Does that count? =P

  • While I love the strange Nazi Zombies mode, I have a hard time of figuring out why WaW exists.  For one, I'm tired of WWII shooters (who isn't?).  And it didn't really seem like it added anything new to the series.

Modern Warfare was amazing.  The stealthy sniper level will always be one of my favorites.  And a thermal gunner on a gunship was a treat.  But in WaW, I'm just driving a tank and shooting the same obsolete ballistics again.

    • I haven't played WAW and I don't think I ever will. ww2 games are fun because of the history behind them but one good one is enough for me. and that good one was cod2. and it still is cod2.

  • The WW2 setting have already been played in CoD2.  I feel like WatW is an expansion with MW elements.  During my time beta testing it, I was disappointed.
