Spyro the Dragon 
Banjo-Kazooie Overall Comparison This is another one of those comparisons that I do where I haven't played one of the games.
I've played the trial of BK on XBLA, and I have to say that I'll probably buy it eventually...but there's something epic about the entire Spyro series (the PSX games, I mean) that just raptures me. I can't really explain it, as there's not much to talk about. It's just good-ol' adventuring, stuff-collecting, and the occasional (and usually awesome) minigame. Maybe it's just because I grew up with a PlayStation, so Spyro was all I had access to. Nostalgia?

My favorite levels on the first Spyro were the ones where you can fly all around and destroy things.
Never found that Spyro had enough depth for me, it was a damn good game, with a fast pace, but just not much story going for it. BK offered a bit more in the exploration field, and i felt more at one with the story, so maybe its a personal thing!
Actually, Spyro gets abilities in the second game, so I guess that's an argument right there....especially because they came out the same year.
