    Overall Comparison
I recently purchased Burnout paradise, it is by far one of the best racing games I've ever played, and, in comparison to its older brother's and sister's this game kicks serious butt.

I believe that this is the first time free roam has been applied to a burnout title, correct me if I'm wrong.

Burnout was good, everybody loooooves crashing, the game had no where to go but up. with games like Burnout 2: Point of impact and Burnout 3: Takedown. both of which only improved the series. then later on, much later on they came out with burnout revenge and from that day on i swore i would play every burnout game.

anyway, Burnout Paradise not only puts allllll the goods of the original burnout games into one but puts in a unique way to get to each event. you drive to your events, and all your event start on intersections. of course this limits the number of events you can have but hey I'm not complaining because there's online play.

Revenge rivalries with other players is always fun of course. because nothing says "hell yes" like taking down your rivals car.

  • The only thing I miss in the previous Burnout games was the crash mode.  The showtime mode in BP is not even close to the same thing in my eyes.

    • But Stone, this is Paradise!  Of course Showtime Mode is better than Crash Mode.

    • The first thing I tried to do was find the crash mode.  Eventually, I accidentally clicked the thumbstick or something like that and discovered that awesome crash mode was replaced with lamer showtime mode.

        • By crash mode, I mean that one mode where it sets up the intersection for you and you have to create as much damage as possible.  Essentially is the same thing, but there was something really fun about trying to outdo yourself with the exact same conditions every time.

  • Not that Burnout is known for realism at all, but there's just something more genuine about making one impact and watching the wreckage just pile and pile.
It requires a lot more strategy and planning than just making your car cartwheel down the highway.  Watching devastation in "crash mode" is so much more exciting than showtime.
