I think I enjoy Crysis more than FarCry 2. Far Cry 2 is like
"Ok, now I'm in Africa. Yay Jeep ride!
OH NOES, MALARIA!!!
"Yay! Guns!
*BUDDABUDDABUDDABUDDA*
OH NOES, MALARIA AGAIN!
PILLS! YAY!
*BUDDABUDDABUDDABUDDA* "
Eh, now I'm just being cynical. Anyway, Far Cry 2 is good too.
BTW, Gene, what're you building? Please tell me it's an i7 core, so we can start an i7 club!
Love your summary of Far Cry 2 =)
I'm in a very weird mood today. I'm in my office looking out my window and it's very dreary and wet, plus I'm scared cause I'm gonna go home and play FEAR 2 tonight.
Pros:
+ The storyline for Crysis is just average to good It's by no means epic, but it kept me engaged enough to play it all the way through.
+ I've gotta say the game play and functionality are quite good though. Their special strengths are pretty unique, and you can essentially start using them right away.
+ Game controls were intuitive.
+ The AI isn't completely stupid or predictable, and can actually be quite challenging. There are good end bosses and normal enemies.
+ The graphics are kick ass! I run it on high and didn't experience any lag on my rig.
Cons:
- Multiplayer was really buggy when I played it before. The maps were just too large for multiplay, but maybe they changed this.
- Sometimes there were some weird game/graphic glitches where I'd get stuck in the ground or something.
- Occassional blue screens which I think were due to the game.
Overall I would say it's a good game to buy. It's definitely some of the best graphics I've seen in awhile, and since it's been out for a decent amount of time now I'd imagine they have patches for the issues I was experiencing originally. If you have the rig to support it, go for it!
