The game they should make.

You know, Ive been thinking, and you have single player modes, and multiplayer modes. and then you have the games like wow that only have multiplayer modes on this giant map where you can go everywhere and do anything.

I think they should make a game to where your the character (so first person is a must ) and put you in  a somewhat modern do anything go anywhere situation. but have it be MMO. so you can interact with EVERYTHING and EVERYONE around you. and the NPC's would have such a good AI that they would attack on sight. instead of you running up to them and attacking just to train, you would have to be on-guard all the time. 24/7. not to mention you'd have to keep track of ammo and supplies if your going into the possibility of "unexplored territory"

no I'm not thinking mmorpg, I'm thinking kind of along the lines of a first person shooter mmo but have it with a single player storyline and millions of side missions that never end. It'd be an entire world on your monitor with endless possibilities!

want to steal a car and drive from one city to the next with 5 irl friends while shooting up some people invading your turf?! go for it!

want to live in the country and have the possibility of starving to death? GO FOR IT

want to visit a remote location with a massive merderous organization? foiling their plans while burning buildings to the ground? i say heck yeah!

more imporantly i like this mmo idea because you can do it with your friends.  <also please note that all these ideas are on a virtual basis and probably shouldnt be tried irl> < except for the the farming and starving> <you can do that...>

  • I would love to play a game like that but it would take decades to program.  I'm always disappointed when I'm running around in a city in a game and find that I can't enter certain buildings.  The best they can do now is make it feel like you're not missing out on things that you wish were there when playing.

Just imagine if in GTA4, you could enter every building and have unique conversations and experiences with every person in the city.  You could help that old lady with groceries in Brooklyn or hand out fliers at a subway stop.  It would be totally awesome, but the amount of programming to make all that happen?  Hot dang.

But yea, I still totally wish it were possible.  Maybe one day they will merge all the games together and we will get something like it =P

  • but i can also see an issue with the game I'm thinking of... example:

your in a mall and there's an npc you want to talk too. well then a group of players come up and kill the npc... how would you talk to her/him? i guess there wouldd have to be some sort of way to restrict fire arms in certain buildings.

  • It's not exactly the same thing that you're talking about, but it is massive
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massive_Action_Game

On a side note, I personally think in a matter of time, there will be a game/interactive world that will let you travel the entire country and visit every town in the country.  I doubt there will be one for the entire world because no one would want to put forth the time and countries will always bicker too much for it to work.

  • It would have to follow MMO rules to an extent...The NPC would be avalable to those who haven't hurt them..say you wanted to talk to  bob about a side quest..but random player a kills bob...he would be dead in player a's version..but in your version he would still be alive...Sort of like how missions work in an MMO..if you want to help an old lady with her groceries..but player a has already done it..you would still have the possibility...in MMO land..(if that makes any sense..i know what im TRYING to say..its difficult though...lol)
    4/2/2009 9:04 pm
    • i get what your trying to say, and that would probably actualy would help, but say player a asks bob for a mission and player b helps on that mission because player a and player b are friends, but player b has already killed bob on his side. well then player a has a reason to do the mission/quest and player b does not.

Prince of Persia is always a fun game to play, one of the main reasons is the Parkour sequences in the games. Story is also a very major part of the Prince of Persia games. It's a story that I love to play.

In WW (warrior within) The prince finds himself full of selfish internal conflicts. He wants to save his own butt without taking into consideration what might happen if he changes his fate. So you're fighting for totally selfish reasons.

In The Two Thrones (TT) You're fighting for your kingdom, well, half way through you are anyway. This is one of the elements that makes TT a lot more fun to play, because you're seeing the prince actually accept what has happened, and rather than try and fix the issue, he just progresses off of it like any normal human would.

Another thing that makes The Two Thrones more fun to play is how well the story carries over between the two games. At the beginning of Two Thrones the story is off, but is explained as to what actually happened at the end of Warrior Within. In Two Thrones the Prince is fighting internally with a part of him that he should have left back on the island of time. but instead it takes a physical manifestation when the sands are released and it consumes him every once in a while.

Overall the story in The Two Thrones is a lot more intriguing and interesting, and the inclusion of quick kills actually makes the game even more fun, as well as easier.

FIRST VIDEO GAME REVIEW OF 2010 ??!?!

It's that time again, yes that time that I review games that the casual video game player probably has never heard about (well they might have heard about guild wars).

Runes of Magic and Guild wars are both free to play games. Except Guild wars requires you buy it. so technically what I mean by a F2P game is that of no monthly fees.

Runes of Magic is, dare I say it, a clone of World of Warcraft. And dare I say again that Runes of Magic is a much better game than Guildwars IN my opinion.

Level Cap: RoM: 55, GW: 20, personally I like a larger level cap than 20, level 20 isn't very intimidating.

World: Unlike guild wars, RoM's world outside of cities and forts are not realy "disconnected" from eachother. In GW you would leave town or a fort, and then unless you had a party you were pretty much on your own, no other characters out there. RoM (and like a million other mmo's) does the classic everyone goes everywhere scenario. except for a few areas I believe, I haven't gotten that far to find out about those area's, I keep dying. The fact that it is open world makes it so much easier to find help on the spot with a quest.

Quests: The quests in RoM aren't what I expected they would be. the fact that you can do more than just kill things in this game really does add to the entertainment value of quests and continued playability. some quests have you gather materials such as herbs, some of course have you kill certain creatures, and some have you help a fallen NPC.

equipment: there is a larger amount of usable equpiment in Runes of Magic as compared to Guild Wars, but who am I to talk that way. I never got all the expansion packs for Guild wars all I got was Eye of the north.

Stupidity: RoM has walking/talking dog npc's that controll the portals... kinda stupid. guild wars takes the cake here against stupidity.

Anyway, Dekaron Global is Dekaron for everyone ever. 2 moons is Dekaron for americans, and 2 moons is a ... cruddy... version ( censored myself ). Dekaron Global gets their updates faster than 2 moons... to be exact its about a week faster. which makes the game better. not to mention they didn't make as much typos in Dekaron Global. and unlike Acclaim, Gamehi actualy does weekly server matenance and checks.  SO TAKE THAT ACCLAIM.

DnD's quest system is not go here kill this. no.. its a  storyline voice actors and all.

Guild wars does the same thing but guild wars you have to buy. also with guild wars there was like a cap at level 20 and then confusion. and then the repetition got to me and just yeah.

but I have to say that the quest I just got through with on DnD was the most fantastic quest I've ever seen in an mmo that I co-op'd through. I would go back and play it again but I'm getting tired.

2 games I've been playing a lot of lately and their both mmorpg's. Both games are made by the same companies and both games are basically built the exact same.

    the exceptions:

Ether Saga is more cartoony and "cute" compared to Perfect World. Perfect World is the more serious looking game and all the User Interface Displays are smaller than that of Ether Saga.

Perfect World has a auto find system. where you can go into your current quests list and click on the guys name that your looking for to finish the quest and your character will automatically start walking in the direction of the guy that your trying to find.

Ether Saga has something similar. You go into the current quests list and click on one of the NPCs your trying to locate and it will take you to them. but in Perfect World its just a straight line. in Ether Saga it actually makes a path around objects to so you don't run into a bunch of crap.

The one thing I like about both games is that they basically force you to do quests in order to get a nice amount of XP. These games aren't like other mmo's where you can just go in for a couple hours and kill a bunch of monsters to level up. if you did that with these games you'd be stuck at one level for quite some time.

Ether saga really catches your eye more than perfect world does. but Ether Saga just floods you with so much different crap that you find yourself not wanting to deal with it. ( hey learn how to do this this this this this oh and feed your pet oh and here's like a million billion quests ). Where as Perfect World International does not do this, PWI is pretty balanced. Finish one quest. you get another ( sometimes ).
