Games nowadays seem to focus alot on multiplayer. Now I do agree that it is an important component to most games, I wish there was more co-op games. Any game you enjoy by yourself is a good thing, enjoying it with a friend or two makes the game infinitely more enjoyable. Take Castle Crashers, for instance, great game by yourself, an amazing time with a couple friends, running around trying to resusitate each other. I am very much looking forward to the new CoD. The co-op looks to be like a very good time.

I think the problem with First-Person co-op is the limit of working on half your tv screen, which can be a turnoff. However, I'm really looking forward to more group oriented games like Castle Crashers, Rock Band/GH:WT, and definitely Little Big Planet.
My friends and I are always looking for some good co-op. We're really looking forward to Dawn of War 2 for this reason. The in-the-same-room co-op is nice as well, which makes all this online-based multiplayer on the consoles a little annoying.
I love me some co-op. But the only good co-op experience I've had recently is Rock Band/Rock Band 2, and Lego Star Wars before that (still haven't picked up Indiana Jones or Batman yet). Split-screen fps co-op is aggravating, although if you play system-link or over xbl or such, it's great fun.
Split screen is annoying but at least it's an option. I still can't believe that COD4 has no split screen online multiplayer option. Just ridiculous IMO
Oh yeah, I completely agree with you. Pretty weak, really. I know that everyone's "pushing online play", but still...
I've been moving back into great single player games. Multiplayer is great, but it can really suck up all your time. At least with single player, there is an ending and you stop playing. I kinda need those bounds I think, otherwise I'd be playing stuff like TF2 every night for a couple hours and get nothing done.
I miss TF2 =(
Online now seems to be one of the first things you look at before getting a game these days. Which I would never say is bad, but I too love the single player, great story, games that leave you a specific ending point. The feeling of beating final boss is such a proud moment. Though online beefs up the replay value by a ton. I hope they continue to make a good amount of both games.
