  • Fallout 2 is better than Fallout
    Overall Comparison
    A bigger world, more characters, and a huge number of things to do makes Fallout 2 much better than Fallout.  When it comes to sheer amounts of replayability as well, Fallout 2 takes the cake. Both games are great, but the sequel has improved on the original in many ways.

  • Hmm.  Maybe I should play Fallout 2 first and not the first Fallout.  I feel like I should play through one of them at least before I even touch Fallout 3.

    • I would disagree.  Fallout 2 is in many ways more of a direct sequel to Fallout 1, and there would be things you'd miss.  It's by no means essential to play Fallout 1 first at all, but if you don't I think it's harder to appreciate Fallout 2.

  • I certainly agree that both games are great, but I just loved the characters and towns in the first game.  But I do love Herman and Bob.
