    Overall Comparison
    As if there haven't been enough of these comparisons already ... it's gotta be done though.  Which of these epic games is better?  On one hand you have an amazing graphics engine, physics engine, and storyline ... on the other you have the father of it all ... who shall be more victorious!?!?!

    I put my bets on HL2 mainly because there have been even more mods that have spawned from it.

  • Some games age well (mega man) and some don't.  HL1 is one of the games that didn't age well.  Even though it helped guide FPS games in a new direction, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be a lot of fun to play through again.

    (And HL1 aged fine...WTF are you talking about? It's freakin' amazing to play 11 years later!)

      I would like to do another run through of the game.  Sad part is that the latter section of the game on Zen is what I remember the most because of its painful jumping puzzles.  Urg.

      • lol...other than the demo on PC, the PS2 version is the only one I've ever played and beaten. Just once. And that was like 2 months ago. (I'm not sure that gives me the authority to talk about it this way, but whatever.)

        Seriously, if I can love it as an old game, and not have any real nostalgiac attachment to it (save for the Orange Box, which doesn't really have anything to do with it...?), then you should shut your face and go play it again.

        • Hehe, didn't realize you just recently played it for the first time.  That's definitely a great way to judge an older game; with a fresh set of eyes.
