all games are not created equal

The more I've been playing these games, the more I enjoy playing GH series over Rock Band 2.

 

First of all the gameplay is exactly the same with main difference in how the notes look.  They both have some fun songs to play and some not so fun songs.  But what makes GH better is how the story takes you through ALL the songs throughout your career.  While Rock Band's Tour mode keeps on making you play some songs over and over even when you've unlocked and moved on to different venues!  That's a crappy way to rob players of more gaming hours.

 

RB does have a very comprehensive list of songs but why recycle them!?  If I want to play the song again I would simply just go to Quickplay mode and rock.  Also if you are playing RB for the first time, I noticed that it doesn't let you play any song right away when you go to Quickplay mode.  You have to unlock them in Tour mode.

 

I do like how RB will highlight a song's guitar solo to earn more points but the novelty wears off after a few songs.

 

Overall I enjoy playing through GH because it just flows through all the songs.  It keeps things fresh with less of "UGH!  WTF!  I just played this song!".

This is a bit of a odd comparison but both games are survival horror and have zombies.  Althogh Resident Evil series have a way more complex story line than Left 4 Dead.  Truth is that Left 4 Dead is more fun to play.

 

What do most of you do after you beat a Resident Evil game?  You let it sit there to collect dust, some of you do play it again in a harder level setting.  After you played it through and through, it no longer have any replay vaule.  Left 4 dead is designed differently.  It's main focus is to get you to play the game with 3 other friends and get achievements or battle it out with another team in versus mode.  Resident Evil 5 is the first time that co-op game play is available, but only with 1 other person and still no versus mode.

 

I feel Left 4 Dead is better than Resident Evil in terms of simple game play, fun with friends, and high replay value.  Even though it lacks in versus maps and campaigns but that can be fixed with an update.  Besides I suck at playing shooters with a controller.

Shooter wise, Bioshock is way better than Crysis.  The game is more balanced.  Both games the player have powers that they can use against the enemies.  But Crysis is just dumb.

The million dollar super suit you have is weak, the battery life on it is worse than my cellphone.  Sure it recharges itself but you can't even make it pass 5 ft before your battery is dead.  Therefore you're practically fighting a group of enemy soldiers in your boxers.  It takes a lot more bullets to kill a enemy soldier and they all have aim bot!  They can hit you from sniper range, yet I have problems holding a sniper rifle steady with all this "advanced" technology on me.  The government pretty much screwed you over, making it look all fancy.  The game is pretty difficult even in easy or normal settings but in expert mode, the enemy soldier will speak Korean!  OMG!  They're going to talk trash at you in Korean as they shoot you while you're standing there trying to figure out what they're say.  C'mon...I'm sure their aim bot is turned on more often.

The story wasn't that great either, government consiracy, Koreans stealing alien technology, aliens got pissed and want to blow up earth.  The only credits this game deserve are the fancy engine and graphics.

It seems like a lot of you have already talked about Bioshock so I will just leave that alone and say I like that game too.
