Fable 2 
The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Overall Comparison I'm not making this choice lightly. Both these RPGs are great. But when playing The Elder Scrolls IV me and my friends would always wish that it could be online, that would be the perfect game. Now I'm not saying Fable 2 is perfect, just that its a great game on its own, and the online feature is great. Still patiently waiting for an epic console MMORPG.

I agree. Fable 2 definitely hedges out Oblivion, but I think for a different reason then you’ve described. I am not much for playing RPGs online, mostly just because of the hours I tend to play (very early morning) most of my friends aren't up. Fable though still feels like you are interacting with the environment. In Oblivion I always felt so insulated. While I may be anti-social while playing both games only oblivion made it abundantly obvious for me.
