Team Fortress 2
Call of Duty 4 Overall Comparison Looking at both these games from a multiplayer point of view, TF2 just has a lot more variety in it's playing styles. COD4 is realistic, which is pretty sweet, but I really enjoy how crazy and totally off the wall TF2 can get. It's that next step of frenzied multiplayer that I feel COD4 doesn't quite do as well.
TF2 also fits my style of gameplay a little better, which involves constant head-on firefights. Also great about TF2 is that it really forces teamwork. In COD4, you wander around with a group of your teammates, but most the time, that's about it. In TF2, theres constant teamwork, the most obvious happening between the heavies and the medics.
Both great, but TF2 rocks my face.

I can't comment on this as I still have not played Team Fortress, but it must be pretty sweet to beat out COD4. I will have to try it out and see if I agree.
While I agree on your views about multiplayer, I am still a fan of single player games. While I can't fault TF2 for not really having single player, I feel that COD4's engrossing sinlge player puts it just ahead.
But yes, TF2 has no single player. I think it would be interesting to have a TF2 single player campaign that closely resembles the multiplayer but still has a plot, like BF: Bad Company (which I don't really care for, but still).
Plenty of thought went into the design and gameplay of TF2, and it shows. They took what made TF1 great, and removed or improved on what made it bad (such as the mindless grenades that would get flung around everywhere). Multiplayer bliss!
