  • Fable 2 is better than Fable
    Overall Comparison
I gotta say, Fable 2 has taken the formula that Fable had setup and expanded on it. I never really got into the first Fable because I felt like there just weren't enough things to do as a character that was supposed to interact with their community. So for the most part, I ran around killing enemies and getting experience. Fable 2 though somehow connects with me more than the first one did and makes me want to be a good person in the game. I feel like everything I do really does matter, which I think is pretty cool.

The fighting is pretty much the same between the two, but I wanna say that the new one is a little harder to just wipe the floor with all the enemies for some reason.  The first one did limit will usage with a mana bar, which made using will more skilled than just spamming spells when enemies are around.  Maybe because of that, will became a little less powerful in the second one?

Worst part of Fable 2 though is the voice acting. Everyone has these waaaay over the top accents and the dialogue also tries to be funny and sometimes is just kinda tiresome for me.

Overall, Fable 2 is awesome and if you liked the first one, you should definitely give the second a go. If you didn't play the first one but thought it sounded interesting, now is your chance to pick up the second one and try it out.

  • Really I thought the two were fairly similar, though I did like the job system in 2, giving you a FOR SURE way to get money, I like the length of 2...It seemed a bit longer and more all over the place instead of confined to just Bowerstone and Oakfield (I use these 2 as the focus because it seemed like everywhere revolved around those 2 and the guild in the first one)

what REALLY disappointed me was the voice acting as you said..I didn't like the british accents myself...too strong, too pronounced, it felt like a bunch of Americans TRYING to sound british..but my main concern is that once again the main character did NOT talk..I mean seriously..how can you be a hero of destiny, and communicate with those around you..with NO voice box!!! UGH!

And, sorry Justin, I have to say, Fable was harder to wipe out enemies, because of 2 simple words, MANA BAR. On fable 2 all you had to do was continually fire spells, you could fill the entire screen without any consequences, which I liked in a way.

Another thing that really saddened me about fable 2..was the lack of metal armor, in the first one you had chain mail and plate mail and mail mail...it was fantastic to know that you were truely a hero defended well...

Despite my major disagreements with Lion Head for what they did to fable 2 (listed above, voice acting and no metal armor) i truely found Fable 2 to be a better over all game than Fable 1

    • I totally forgot about the mana bar thing.  I noticed it when I first started Fable 2, but then I guess quickly forgot it after I started to spam spells all over the place.
