    Why am I comparing these two games? They both involve snakes!

    I loved Snake Rattle and Roll when I was a kid. I have no idea what made the game so great for me at the time, but I always loved playing it. There were a lot of jumping puzzles though, so I could only play for so long before I got frustrated.

    Metal Gear Solid also came out during the time I classify to be "my youth". I couldn't put the game down once I started it and ended up beating it over two long gaming sessions.

    Why is MGS better? Because Solid Snake could totally beat up an actual snake in a fight. Did you play MGS3? All he did that entire game was eat snakes. They may have been relatives of the snakes from Snake Rattle and Roll, but I think we may never know.

  • Whats interesting is how much these two snakes have in common. 
    Solid Snake when falling off a cliff:
    "AAAAArrrrrghhhhhh"

    Rattle/Rool falling off a cliff:
    "AAAArrrrrrrgggggg"

    Each snake has a twin as well.  Interesting, no?

  • I've never played Snake Rattle n Roll, but when I was little, we had a Game Genie for the NES and I remember looking through the book of codes and seeing this game come right before Snake's Revenge. Since I only had the latter, I concluded that Snake's Revenge must be a sequel to Snake Rattle n Roll.
