The very first thing I noticed was that the black and white everything wasn't done with shadows, but rather with plain old textures. That means the shading of the characters don't change as they move around. Same with the environment. I wanted the black and white to be dramatic, but it's hard to be dramatic if it just feels like a full bright world with no shadows.
Sad.
Black, White and Red
When I saw the screenshots from MadWorld, I thought the game looked pretty dang sweet. I thought it had a great look to it, so I really wanted to see and feel it in motion. The very first thing I noticed was that the black and white everything wasn't done with shadows, but rather with plain old textures.
