-------------------
I hate changing the camera angle of 3d RTS games. It totally messes up my orientation. Luckily, I can turn that off in this game so that I don't accidentally mess up the angle when I'm zooming in or out.
---------------------
Urg, mission failed. It's not easy to jump all over the map to find out where the enemies are. The stupid civilians also blocked the path of my troops, so they just sat there until I manually told them individually how to get out.
Let's try this one again.
-------------------------------
Even though I completed the mission, I still feel like I failed. I really feel like I could have used a mouse and keyboard during that mission.
-------------------------------
It's kinda cool to see units and structures from the Halo games.
------------------------------
First impressions:
If you like Halo and RTS games, I think this might be a good game to play. If like Halo and don't like RTS games, then it depends on how badly you want to see the backstory of Halo.
My biggest complaint is that when stuff really starts going crazy, I feel really limited by the controller. Enemies attacking at three points at once could be managable on a computer, but with just the controller, it's kinda tough. It's especially tricky if you want to select specific units on the screen to send to a point.
Blog as I Play: Halo Wars
Cutscenes are pretty cool looking. It takes place 20 years before the halo incident. Only problem is that I really don't know much about the Halo universe. I've played Halo 2 and Halo 3, but I really don't remember anything about the story, so none of this stuff from Halo Wars is really tieing in.-------------------
